Love & War 03:36
Love and War Moors/McCumber (Chorus) There are no hard fast rules when it comes to love and war you best know what you're after and what you're in it for Without a leg to stand he makes an argument based on delusion and tampered evidence Everything is rosie when you have the right away some will claim they're holy as they try to take your rights away (Chorus) Raised upon conviction full of bleeding heart you're a dream or a nightmare it can be hard to tell apart Everything is rosie when you have the right away some will claim they're holy as they try to take your rights away (Chorus) (Break)

Buried in Stone I am a gypsy i follow the wind of change where it takes me I move from within a sculpture buried in stone I'm buried in stone I'm a bit typsy I've had too much wine if you don't want kiss me don't tell me why or say that you're love is a fragile thing buried in stone love is a fragile thing buried in stone love is a fragile thing some want a big red rose some want a diamond ring I don't want either of those buried in stone love is a fragile thing buried in stone you don't have to convince me I've made my false starts I've tried to move mountains they've all fallen apart nothing but flesh and bone buried in stone love is a fragile thing buried in stone (4x)

I used to run around I met him on the top of a mountain I never really did catch his name but out of his mouth came a fountain his story his life he did say I recall a time when I was younger living off the land and for the land I was a child full of wonder but nature had its way and made a man I used to run around with a band full of trouble who never really did settle down I should have used a body double I've spent so much time falling down I used to run around gave the fox a run for his money hot on the trail like a hound I've tired of all the running I'm ready sit this one out I used to run around Break back in the day I had a hunger iving fast was living free I don't know how I'm not six feet under it's hard to believe Chorus Break Chorus I met him on the top of a mountain I never really did catch his name

It's Different now You can't go back to where you've been it's different now It was a bright white snow fallen down to cover tracks that we laid down the night before I got tired of holding my own hand trying to know where I can and cannot stand and it's not so clear when courage disappears And You can't go back to where you've been it's different now No You can't go back to where you've been it's different now it's different now why wait for this thing to come undone mistakes were made And You can't go back to where you've been it's different now You can't go back to where you've been it's different now it's different now it's different now

Slan Abhaile 04:03
Slan Abhaile This fire smells of peat and reminds me of home a place i've not lived but i've grown to love from McGanns up in Doolin, to dingle bay we conjured up music and we're carried away by the sounds of Irish fiddle, the sound of Uillean pipes, and the sound of the Irish whistle fills the air tonight   [chorus] in our green island home, we were carried away to a time when our fathers were living this way with a pint in the evening to settle the score we rise up singing till we’re human once more   we sang a song with Michael we sang a song with Mick we sang a song for our old friend Tom who could sing the hell out of this and we sang a song for Evie and we sang a song for Lil’ and we sang a song we could all sing along, we laughed and we had our fill  [chorus] [solo] slainte mhaith mo chairde my friends slan abhaile while you're travelling slainte mhaith mo chairde one more round slan abhaile homeward bound   green island home, we were carried away to a time when our fathers were living this way with a pint in the evening to settle the score we rise up singing and we’re human once more with a pint in the evening to settle the score we rise up singing and we’re human once more   slainte mhaith mo chairde, slan abhaile, slainte mhaith mo chairde, slan abhaile (6X)

Against The Grain Moors/McCumber We held up fairly well we stayed behind and we gave it hell when the whole world seemed to be burning down we closed in tight and stood our ground you cant take away the land all I've built up with my own two hands I'll dig the line I'll make a stand Against the Grain again call me crazy call me desperate this piece of land is what I have left so until the acrid smoke burns my lungs I'll fight it back with everything I've got Singing (Chorus) 40 acres and a childhood dream a place for kids to come and make believe that on a mountain I can stand and take flight across the span Singing (Chorus) and as the flames reached in to take Gold Hill we stayed the night and we drained the well what this fire takes we'll build again Chorus We held up fairly well we stayed behind and we gave it hell when the whole world seemed to be burning down we closed in tight to save our little town

Moors & McCumber Boulder, Colorado

James Moors and Kort McCumber are Americana musicians who craft beautiful story songs that walk the line between rootsy folk and melodic pop. The two songwriters met at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival in Lyons, CO in 2005. Sitting around swapping songs, they each heard something in the music of the other that just fit. The two have been performing and writing together ever since. ... more
